Professional learning opportunities designed for continuous growth and career advancement. Explore resources to elevate your expertise and stay ahead.

Academic

Explore educational programs designed for intellectual growth and professional development, empowering you to excel in academic pursuits and career aspirations. Discover a range of training opportunities tailored to meet diverse learning needs at every stage of your educational journey.

Prerequisite: Building Your System

This training, intended for a leadership team, is designed to utilize the NDMTSS Essential Components to solve problems at the school, classroom, and student level. Emphasis will be given to translating current educational research practice to help schools maximize resources and outcomes for all students. Examples of data systems for universal screening and progress monitoring will be identified, as well as specific interventions and curricula to address problems at a systems level.

Objectives

  • Identify current gaps in student outcomes based on grade level data
  • Evaluate appropriate pathways for students to increase academic achievement
  • Develop strategies for solving problems at increasingly larger levels
  • Increase awareness of evidence-based interventions and curricula

Prerequisite: Developing Academic Pathways

This training, intended for school lead teams, will focus on innovation of the NDMTSS model with emphasis on:

  1. Data collection and disaggregation
  2. Data-driven decision making, and
  3. Problem solving for student, classroom, and systems level.

Monitoring practices will be developed to determine if the system is having a positive impact on student learning with a strong focus on fidelity and outcome data. Opportunities for collaboration and to observe MTSS in action within the cohort will be organized.

Objectives

  • Evaluate research-based interventions
  • Determine effectiveness of Placement Pathways
  • Begin the process for assisting teachers in analyzing data for trends in student growth or stagnancy

Prerequisite: Evaluating Your System

The facilitated training days with Wayne Callender and NDMTSS Coaches will assist teams as they look closely at their most current benchmark data to determine the overall effectiveness of their MTSS process. Teams will come away with an enhanced understanding of how to use their data to guide and strengthen their MTSS process to ensure all students succeed.

Objectives

  • Conduct effective data meetings
  • Create Assessment Calendar
  • Problem-solve
  • Reevaluate MTSS system
  • Revisit walk to learn and, new student protocols

Behaviors

Develop schoolwide behavior expectations, understand PBIS principles, and draft action plans for successful implementation. Discover more about our comprehensive Behavior Training Programs.

Prerequisite: Building Your System

Develop plans for active supervision, problem behavior identification, classroom management, data collection and data systems. Upon completion, schools will have identified gaps in current practice and have an action plan for steps to improve practice in their building.

Objectives

  • Understand PBIS implementation within a multi-tier system of support
  • Have a global understanding of the core principles of PBIS
  • Understand and identify the 10 critical elements of Tier 1 including developing school-wide expectations and recognizing student success
  • Develop a draft Action Plan for Tier 1 implementation

Prerequisite: Developing Schoolwide Behavior Expectations

Develop plans for active supervision, problem behavior identification, classroom management, data collection and data systems. Upon completion, schools will have identified gaps in current practice and have an action plan for steps to improve practice in their building.

Objectives

  • Solidify implementation of Tier 1 foundational supports
  • Identify students who would need or benefit from Tier 2 instructional services and related supports based on an analysis of Tier 1 data
  • Select and analyze appropriate sources and types of behavioral data to develop and test hypotheses about variables influencing the Tier 2 problem
  • Select evidence-based standard-protocol interventions for use at the Tier 2 level based on analysis of hypotheses, match student need to treatment provided, and evaluate effectiveness of interventions used

Prerequisite: Schoolwide Behavior Expectations: Coaching & Refining

Tier 2 Supports & Check-in/check-out Training. Tier 2 supports build on the lessons provided at Tier 1 and may prevent the need for more intensive interventions. Tier 2 supports are provided to small groups of students with similar needs, offering more time and/or detailed instruction on the core curriculum.
