With a transition to virtual training due to the pandemic, NDMTSS staff were still able to reach an outstanding 64 school districts and 113 school buildings! These leadership teams did not push this important work to the wayside but instead found a way to schedule the needed time to continue the work ensuring the system stayed strong and continued to improve.
Taking a deeper look into participation over the years below you’ll find a map of district involvement since we began tracking in 2014. We are amazed each year as the map continues to fill meaning the work is going further and becoming more embedded throughout the state in 110 districts and nearly 230 schools. We look forward to what is to come as we work closely with the N.D. Department of Public Instruction and the regional education association’s support with schools identified for comprehensive or targeted support through the state ESSA plan.
North Dakota’s Multi-Tier System of Supports (NDMTSS) is a framework to provide all students with the best opportunities to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in school. NDMTSS focuses on providing high-quality instruction and interventions matched to student need, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals. Data is used to allocate resources to improve student learning and support staff implementation of effective practices.
